About Florence Concrete Pros
Florence Concrete Pros is a concrete company working out of Florence, South Carolina. We pour driveways, patios, slabs and walks, fix the ones that have cracked or sunk, and take on commercial pads and sidewalks. The work is local, and so is the thinking behind it: the ground here is sandy over clay, the summers are long and wet, and most of the concrete we get called about failed because of what was under it.
How we work
Every job starts with a visit. We measure, push a probe into the base, look at where the water goes when it rains and check for roots from the pines and oaks nearby. Because freeze-thaw is mild in the Pee Dee, we spend less time worrying about frost and more time on compaction, drainage and joint spacing, which is where local slabs actually fail. Every job is priced after we have measured it on site and looked at the base, with the price in writing before any forms go down. On pour day we start early in summer to beat the afternoon heat and the pop-up storms, and we cure the slab instead of leaving it to bake. When the job touches a city street or a state road, we tell you up front which permit applies, since aprons inside Florence city limits generally need one and SCDOT handles its own roads.
